Volume 30 contains some 348 letters penned during the years 1974-75, this brings the total of the Rebbe`s letters published thus far in this multi-volume series to 11,650.

The Rebbe`s correspondents include statesmen and homemakers, chief rabbis and Bar/Bat Mitzvah youngsters, scientists, communal leaders and laymen. These letters offer insight to the growth of Chabad-Lubavitch as a worldwide organization, and its impact on post Holocaust Jewish life.

The range of topics covered in these letters is broad, including as it does matters of Jewish esoteric interest, Jewish law, Chasidic philosophy, and the Jewish perspective on science and politics. This volume covers the Rebbe`s multi-point mitzvah drives, specifically the Shabbos candle lighting campaign launched that year, as well as letters relating to numerous Jewish communities including Miami, France, Israel and Morocco.

Of special interest is a letters to Teddy Kollek, then mayor of Jerusalem, General Mordechai Piron, then Chief Rabbi of the IDF, the famous Yiddish author Chaim Grade, Chasidic artist Hendel Lieberman, and the Editors of the Talmudic Encyclopedia (Encyclopedia Talmudit). Also of interest is a letter to the administration of Yeshivat HaKotel, and a letter about the first bi-lingual edition of the Hebrew-English Tanya.
